Title:
PRR 8624, AS-18M, 1964
Description:
Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 11 April 1964. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #8624, two unidentified EMD "B" units, and engine #9788. #8624 is an AS-18M built by the American Locomotive Company in 1956 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. #9788 is an EF-15A built by EMD in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. They are pulling a 63-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train along with caboose #477228.
