This 22" gauge Cagney 4-4-0 is thought to have been built in 1904, making it older than most operational standard gauge steam locomotives! It was brought to what was then the Herbert Fleishhacker Zoo in 1925 (hence the number it carries) and operated for 53 years before being retired in 1978. It was restored to operation in 1998 and converted to natural gas firing. |
