Roy Hill ES44ACi 1028 was on the Wabtec test track at Fort Worth on 15 October 2021, along with newly-remanufactured Union Pacific C44ACM 6220. The 1028 is probably the first new locomotive built at the Fort Worth plant since Cerrejon ES44AC 1025 was completed last December. (The previous Roy Hill unit, the 1027, was a 1-unit order shipped last November.) Roy Hill is an integrated iron ore mining, rail and port operation in the Pilbara region of West Australia. The company’s pink paint scheme was the idea of its executive chairman and director, Mrs. Gina Hope Rinehart to support breast cancer awareness and women miners. |
