This sleek ICE T 411-228 seven car trainset came into the Passau station on its way to Frankfurt via the Plattling and Regensburg line. The Siemens/Alstrom set was built in 1977 as a class 411. It's referred to as ICE T since it has the tilting capabilities but the mechanism was deactivated when problems occurred with a broken axle. Not sure if it has been resolved yet. The high speed trainset can reach speeds of 230km/h (140 mph) in some of its straight runs. |
