Recently-deoivered New Orleans Public Belt SW1000 number 104 was pulling a train south along the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal (IHNC). The photo was taken from the St. Claude Avente bridge, and the lift span in the background is the Judge Seeber Bridge on North Claiborne Avenue. The IHNC connects Lake Pontchartrain with the Mississippi River, ang the structure on the right - with the red roof - is the control house for the canal's lock. The canal opened in 1921.
