| In August 1978 I rode the Broadway from New York to Chicago. At the time, it was still a main freight route to the Windy City for Conrail, and I recall a number of things from that trip. One was outrunning a white Firebird that was pacing us on adjacent US 30. The other was that we seemed to meet an eastbound every 30 minutes or so. There also was some local traffic on the route, as we see here. A solo GP 7 works a siding near Valpo. |
