Built in 1928 by Pullman as B&A #99. The #99 was renumbered in 1939 to NYC #6 (2nd), and it was modernized in 1948 as P&LE #99 (2nd). In July 1962 it was sold to D.E. Taylor as Gold Coast Railroad #99, and it was later resold to D. Kramlich. At some point the name SEA LEVEL was applied, although by which party I'm not sure. In 1981, C&NW acquired the car from the Texas Tank Company, as the #404 (2nd), and it was renumbered in 1982 to #400 (3rd). This car is now owned by the Adirondack Railway Preservation Society as ADIX #99 NEHASANE. Scanned with an Epson V550 from an original Kodachrome 35mm slide. |
