Sadoff and Rudoy own the Block Iron scrap yard. Sadoff is a major player in scrap metals in Wisconsin. This location on East 10th Avenue has a rail spur that has not been used for at least 22 years. The spur is off the former CNW line thru Oshkosh and this area was abundant with industry, now being redeveloped as the piles of gravel attest to. The gravel is the remains of brick and masonry. Along with the changing times, Block Iron no longer accepts scrap at this yard. Twenty two years ago, it was a beehive of activity with large piles of iron, Sadoff trucks and citizens recycling their metals for a small profit. |
