Lounge car 3102 began life as U.S. Army hospital car 89507, built by the St. Louis Car Co. in 1954. It was rebuilt by Amtrak as lounge car 3401, and then renumbered 3102 when upgraded to head-end power. The car was photographed at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. |
