Here is a photo of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5497, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during February of 1928 and retired in April of 1958 after 30 years of faithful service. Note that the main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. Raymond C. Laws Collection. |
