HEP 10"roomette/6-double bedroom sleeper PACIFIC FOREST was on the PANAMA LIMITED at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. The Plan 9522 car was bwilt in February 1950 for the Union Pacific, and was later numbered 1415. Its first Amtrak number was 2611, and it was renumbered 2911 when it was modified for#head-end power (HEP) operation in 1977. When this photo was taken, the PANAMA had just become an HEP train. |
