Englewood Yard and Houston skyline from Wayside Drive - Built in 1956 by the Southern Pacific Railroad, Englewood Yard was a state of the art hump and classification facility. The tracks to the right are the one time Texas & New Orleans "Sunset Route," today's Union Pacific Terminal Sub. What I thought would be a perfect shot doesn't work out exactly right because UP runs westbounds only on this line so this view is only of the back of a trains. |
